Diamond in the Rough
This page is to recognize a builder of brotherhood within prison culture by demonstrating noble behavior through an uncommon act of kindness, concern, service, consideration, or help to another individual.
During our live events, we have a segment called Diamond In The Rough, where we distribute a few business-style cards emblazoned with a gold emblem and text explaining that the card is to be passed from one incarcerated individual to another as a type of self-perpetuation recognition program among themselves.
A simple way to recognize those who are making an effort to care about those around them, those who choose to work towards change, and those who try to make a difference in the lives of others in some way or another. Often, little things can lead to bigger things. Much like how ordinary carbon is turned to a diamond through the pressure and heat deep within the roughest parts of the earth.
There is an email on the back of the card where individuals can write in (via friends and famil). To explain how they were awarded the card. This page is to document that recognition and appreciate those who are working to a difference within the prison atmosphere, those who are Diamonds in the Rough.
We aim to both protect each individual's identity as wall as providing recognition. All entries here are posted by request. If you would like more information added or your name removed at any time, please contact us and we will do so immediately.
